This is a DiscontinuedProject. It has been finished and is in a stable state now. Currently, no effort is made for further work here.
The current handling for digital photos is like this:
- Take photo with Canon EOS10D or another digital camera, either as JPG or RAW image.
Convert RAW to TIFF with dcraw (or Bibble, which is a commercial software I have not yet bought, but am still thinking about this). If you want to try Bibble on FreeBSD, the hints on http://support.bibblelabs.com/webboard/viewtopic.php?p=18246#18246 might prove useful.
- Rename image file from camera specific to YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS like this:
#!/bin/sh -
ls *.[jJ][pP][gG] | while read F; do
chmod 644 ${F}
jhead -nf"%Y%m%d-%H%M%S" "${F}"
done
Edit photo with The Gimp, if neccessary for quality issues
Store photo on http://pix.thiemo.net/
If the photo is to be edited for more than quality reasons, a working copy for this is generated now. This is further processed.
Edit photo with The Gimp
- Publish result as desired
- Store Gimp image format and JPG export on hard disk until burning a batch to CD/DVD
