Short Introduction

Please note: I do not know if I may include this information with these web pages. I do it, at this time, to show what the display I have chosen for this task can do, and how it can be done. If anyone feels that providing this data here is an offense against his copyright, or that I am not allowed to publish his intellectual property for informational purposes here, please drop me a mail. Implementation
I have built a small interface circuit to generate the neccessary +9 V supply for the background lighting, and to carry the 1 kOhm protective resistors for the parallel port connection. Once I can access a digital camera again, I will take photos of it.
I have written a test program to see if the connections are all correct, and the display is working. It works pretty well, using FreeBSD's ppi(4) driver, and can turn on the display, the backlight, inverse mode, and test mode. You may download the source code here, standard disclaimer applies. To use it, the following line has to be included in the kernel configuration, plus the standard parallel port interface drivers:
