This is a DiscontinuedProject. It has been finished and is in a stable state now. Currently, no effort is made for further work here.
I need a tool to keep track of all the computers and computer parts I own, so I wrote a web-based inventory system for this.
Each piece of hardware is tagged with a number (as assigned by the tool). With this number a set of properties is associated, which then can be queried through a website. Read-only access is possible without having to log in there, but writing requires some kind of authentication, which is done by a simple passwort-based mechanism currently.
Once I find time to write up documentation for the scripts and mysql database backing this inventory system, I will release the source code here.
Installation

Install and set up the /MySql database.
- Print stickers with the inventory numbers, and attach them to the items to be inventorized.
Enter data into the web-based inventory.
